    Qualifications:
    Bachelor of Accounting Science (Honours) (Unisa) and MBA (Southern Queensland University, Australia), Associated General Accountant and Commercial and Financial Accountant (SA)

    Shameel is the CEO of Vodacom Group since September 2012. He is a former CEO of Vodafone Spain. He was previously the Managing Director of Vodacom South Africa from March 2005 to March 2011 prior to taking up the position as CEO of Vodafone Spain. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Vodacom Service Provider Company from September 2000 to February 2005, and Managing Director of Vodacom Equipment Company from 1998. Shameel served on the Vodacom Group Board from 2000 until March 2011, when he was seconded to Spain. He was re-appointed to the Vodacom Group Board in September 2012 after his return from Spain.

    Till was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Vodacom Group in August 2015 after working as the Finance Director at Vodacom South Africa from February 2014. He has more than 15 years experience supporting financial and operational transformations through expertise in financial strategy, business leadership, revenue and profit growth in international environments. Till has had a broad and successful career within large international corporations including various finance and commercial roles, including CFO and Head of Channel Marketing and Sales Operations at Vodafone Romania. He began his career at T-Mobile Germany before undertaking various roles at T-Mobile UK as well as serving as a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group.

    Nadya was appointed as Chief Officer: Strategy and New Business with effect from 1 June 2016. Nadya has been with the Vodacom Group including Vodacom since 2005. She was the Finance Director at Vodafone Ireland from October 2013 to April 2016. Prior to Ireland, Nadya was Head of Financial planning and Analysis at Vodafone India for 2 Years. Before going on assignment within Vodafone, Nadya was with Vodacom Group as Vodacom Group Executive Business Development, where she lead Vodacom's listing on the JSE and its BEE deal. During her tenure at Vodafone Ireland, Nadya successfully supported the business in its journey to convergence, delivering a return to service revenue and mobile revenue growth for the first time in more than five years. Prior to her joining Vodacom, Nadya qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young and then spent 5 years in investment banking, specialising in mergers & acquisitions at Morgan Stanley in Johannesburg and London.

    Andries joined Vodacom in June 1996 and has since held a number of senior positions in the company. He was appointed Chief Technology Officer for Vodacom Group and a member of the Vodacom Group Executive Committee in November 2010. He is an executive director on the Vodacom South Africa Board and also a director of Vodacom Tanzania Limited and VM S.A. (Mozambique). Andries held a number of positions at various organisations including the Council for Science and Industrial Research (CSIR) prior to joining Vodacom in 1996.

  • Gary Hagel

    Gary is the Chief Officer: Commercial Operations at Vodacom Group. He joined Vodacom in February 2014, and prior to joining held the position of Senior Director Customer Experience Europe, for eBay Inc. He has previously held a number of senior sales, service and customer experience positions with organisations such as France Telecom, Apple Inc, T-Mobile and BT. As a Management Consultant, he has also worked within a number of global financial services organisations. His core belief is to always put our people and the customer at the heart of the business, an ethos that is very much in line with our own values.

    Vuyani is Chief Officer for Vodacom Business with responsibility to drive business growth by enabling businesses and governments across the continent to be increasingly connected and digital. As a group enterprise executive he oversees the implementation of enterprise strategy in all markets where Vodacom has presence. He is the Chairman of the boards of a number of subsidiary companies focused on the B2B market segment. These include Vodacom Business Africa, Vodacom Business Nigeria, Xlink as well as Stortech. He is the director in the board of Vodacom South Africa and a member of Vodacom Capital Investment Review Board. Vuyani is also board member of Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency and the Chairman of The Nelson Mandela Museum Council. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer for Vodacom South Africa.

    Vivek Mathur was appointed as Chief Operating Officer: International Business from 16 November 2015. Vivek joined Vodafone India in 2012 as Chief Commercial Officer India, where he successfully led the commercial function to double-digit revenue growth, improving revenue market share, acceleration of data growth, increased brand consideration and the expansion of our retail footprint. Prior to that, Vivek was the Chief Executive Officer of Pizza Express India. Before that Vivek has served as President, Godrej Consumer Products, Managing Director, Hershey, Chief Operating Office, Godfrej Sara Lee and held senior leadership position with Tata Global Beverages and Unilever.

    Qualifications:
    B Admin (University of Venda), Post Graduate Diploma in HR (UCT), MBA (UKZN), and also a graduate of the Vodafone Global HR Excellence Program.

    Matimba is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Vodacom Group. Prior to this role, he was Managing Executive: HR for Vodacom South Africa until April 2014. Matimba has worked within the Vodacom/Vodafone Group since 2003 during which he worked in various roles within HR. He subsequently spent 3 years on secondment to Vodafone as Regional Head of Organisational Effectiveness & Change, and Regional Head of Talent within the Africa, Middle East & Asia Pacific “AMAP” region. Prior to his assignment to the Vodafone AMAP Region, Matimba was responsible for Talent Management at Vodacom for six years where he successfully delivered the integration of our talent strategy into the Vodafone global strategy. His previous experience includes key HR roles in blue chip companies such as BMW South Africa and Unilever. In October 2015 Matimba was appointed as a Non Executive Director on the Vodacom Business Nigeria Board and in May 2017 as a Non Executive Director on the YeboYethu Board.

    Nkateko joined Vodacom as Chief Officer: Regulatory and Stakeholder Relations. Prior to joining Vodacom, he held several positions at MTN, including Group Executive for Corporate Services where his responsibilities included Legal, Regulatory, Company Secretariat and the MTN Foundation. Nkateko was CEO of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (“ICSA”). He was appointed to the Vodacom Group Executive Committee on 1 November 2010.

    Jorge Mendes is appointed as Chief Officer: Consumer Sales & Distribution. Jorge joined Vodacom in 1994, and since then he has played a number of roles in the business. He has also successfully managed all the sales channels within South Africa and has driven strong operational management in the regions. During his tenure in the business he has worked in our businesses in Tanzania, DRC and Mozambique.

    Qualifications:
    MBA, Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management, and Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Cape Town.

    Nyimpini Mabunda was appointed as Chief Officer: Consumer Business Unit from 1 September 2016. Nyimpini joined Vodacom from Uganda Breweries Limited where he held the position of Managing Director since 2013 and he delivered exceptional results for their business. Nyimpini started his career at Proctor & Gamble where he was employed as a Graduate Management Trainee within Sales and Customer Marketing and later held the position of Channel Manager. He continued to build his career at Brandhouse Beverages, SASEKA Network and Diageo PLC – where he held various positions in sales, marketing, strategy and general management. He is well experienced in leading a diverse and complex environment having worked across many African countries and the United Kingdom.

    LLB (Wits), Higher Diploma in Company Law (Wits), BJuris (University of Venda), Master's Degree Security Studies (University of Pretoria), Executive Education Certificates (Wits and Harvard Kennedy School of Government)

    Takalani was appointed as Chief Officer: Corporate Affairs with effect from 15 September 2016. Takalani has spent her entire career in government mainly as a lawyer and Policy advisor in the security cluster, and as such is deeply knowledgeable and networked amongst legal and security policy makers, influencers, opinion leaders and business organisations. Over the last 20 years, in her legal and policy development and implementation work, as well as in her capacity as a Ministerial Advisor, Takalani has developed well-honed Public Policy development understanding, stakeholder and relationship management skills. These were augmented during her 4 year stint as Ambassador in Hungary (and Croatia). She has operated as CEO of Electronic Communications Security (Pty) (Ltd). She received several merit awards which include the Hungarian Eotvos (ELTE) University commemorative medal and certificate for relentless efforts to promote academic and cultural collaboration between South Africa and Hungary, and deepening bilateral relations between the two countries. She was also awarded the Intelligence Services Woman of the Year award for meritorious contribution to the South African intelligence policy and legal dispensation. She was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 1996.
